Roger George's love for cooking began at the early age of 10. Growing up In Trinidad, he was often found In the kitchen with his Mother. Ready to help and lick the cake bow. The joy of cooking and baking continues to grow inside of him. With his mother's recipes and Trini's style of cooking, at 15, Roger was determined to make cooking his career. He enrolled in the Trinidad and Tobago Hospitality and Tourism Institute, an accredited training organization based in Chaguaramas, Trinidad. Some time passed, and Roger got the news he would soon be a dad. Now, at 20 yrs and with this news, he thought cooking would have to take a temporary back seat. Just as things seemed bleak, a friend gave Roger an application for a cook position on the Carnival Cruise Lines. When the call came in that Roger was accepted for the job, he knew leaving his one-year-old daughter Rene'e would be so hard. However, he had to think about not just himself but her future as well. He took the job, and it catapulted his cooking career and gave him exposure and experience to sharpen his skills further. After five years with the cruise line, Roger stood out among his peers, and the Food and Beverage management team selected him among four others for a full scholarship to study at Johnson and Wales University's Culinary Arts program in Florida with the contingency he would continue to work for them. Roger did just that putting in 13 years with Carnival. Roger came over to the States and secured a job as an ITI (Institutional Trade Instructor 3) for the state of New Jersey. He then sent for his daughter and has been in this career for eight years. Roger has finally fulfilled his dream of owning his business with a food trailer in the works. He is ready to share his passion for cooking and fuse Trini dishes with an American twist!
At Hiz & Hers Kitchen, we have a deep passion for food and its ability to bring people together. And we want you to not just taste but experience dishes from Chef George's home of Trinidad. That's why we are passionate about creating unique, flavorful dishes that delight the senses and leave a lasting impression on our clients and their guests.
We use only the freshest, highest quality ingredients in our dishes, sourced locally whenever possible. Our chefs are constantly experimenting with new flavors and techniques to create unique, delicious dishes that showcase the best of what each season has to offer.
We offer a range of menus to fit any occasion, from formal sit-down dinners to casual buffets and everything in between. Our menus can be customized to fit your specific needs and preferences, and we are happy to accommodate dietary restrictions and preferences.
